In 2017, Thomas Consultants was contracted to identify the extent of asbestos-containing materials throughout an international airport and surrounding buildings outside of New Zealand. Our team of asbestos testing specialists also provided an asbestos management plan for the continued refurbishment of the entire airport.

Thomas Consultants carried out an asbestos demolition survey of the airport which involved over 100 hours of surveying time by two teams. Once the register was finalised, our team undertook supervision of asbestos removal – including training local construction contractors how to remove asbestos-containing materials using best-practice methodologies.

We were able to work within the tight confines of an international airport, meet all Aviation Security requirements, and allow the client to manage their site safely, so that business could continue throughout the duration of the refurbishment.
